Weekend Away Kit

Weekend trips with a dog go better when the small stuff is already packed. Here is what we would throw in the bag.

Treats for the trail and the hotel room: GivePet Astromutt Salmon. Single ingredient, freeze-dried, and a portion of each sale supports shelter dogs.

A treat pouch that stays out of your way: The Ruffwear Treat Trader clips on and keeps rewards within reach, so recall practice and good manners are easy on a new street.

A bowl that packs flat: A collapsible bowl with a carabiner, so water is never more than a clip away.

Poop bags and a dispenser: Our compostable bags, plus a dispenser that attaches to the leash. Hands free is the goal.

Something to chew: A long-lasting chew for the hotel room, for when everyone needs to settle down after a big day.
